I International Symposium Pathophysiology in Cardiometabolic Diseases

The Organizing Committee invites Young Investigators (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists within five years of PhD completion) to submit original research abstracts for oral or poster presentation. This call aims to promote emerging researchers working in translational cardiometabolic science, integrating mechanistic and clinical perspectives.

Abstracts must be submitted via email to symposium.mitomets@fisabio.es

The subject line must read: Young Investigator Abstract – [Surname]

Author names and affiliations will be requested separately during the submission process and must not be included in the abstract text section.

   Alignment: Left-aligned
   Maximum length: 250 characters

Abstract Text

   Font: Arial
   Size: 12 pt
   Maximum length: 250 words
   The title is excluded from the word count.

A structured format is required, including the following sections:

   Introduction
   Methods
   Results
   Conclusion

The following elements must not be included in the abstract text:

   Author names
   Institutions
   Tables or figures
   Conflict of interest statements
   Funding information

Conflict of interest and funding disclosures will be submitted separately.

Abstracts exceeding the word limit or not adhering to formatting guidelines will be automatically rejected.

Abstracts must align with one of the following scientific areas:

   Redox Signaling and Oxidative Stress in Cardiometabolic Pathophysiology
   Precision and Translational Therapeutic Strategies in Cardiometabolic Diseases
   Mitochondrial Biology, Bioenergetics and Metabolic Flexibility
   Microbiome, Nutrition and Host–Metabolic Interactions
   Exercise Physiology, Mitochondrial Adaptations and Metabolic Health
   Immunometabolism and Systemic Inflammatory Regulation


Presentation Format

Selected abstracts will be assigned to poster presentations or to oral presentations consisting of 8 minutes presentation + 2 minutes discussion. The Scientific Committee will determine the final presentation format based on evaluation criteria.


Young Investigator Award

All accepted submissions will automatically be considered for the Young Investigator Award in Cardiometabolic Pathophysiology. Evaluation criteria include scientific originality, methodological rigor, translational relevance, and clarity of presentation.
